CartProof is a Chrome extension for Shopify storefront QA and client handoff reporting.

Data Stored Locally

CartProof stores license validation state, masked license-key preview, customer email returned by the Licensing Manager when available, extension instance ID, local usage counters, saved test templates, white-label report settings, recent audit reports, and screenshot evidence in Chrome local storage.

Data Sent To CartProof Services

When a license key is activated, CartProof sends the license key, extension instance ID, app ID, product slug, provider, and extension version to the configured Licensing Manager endpoint.

When usage reporting is configured and a paid license is active, CartProof may send audit usage events with report ID, audit mode, audit count, and summary counts. These events are used for quota enforcement and product licensing.

When a user submits the CartProof website contact form, CartProof stores the submitted name, email address, subject, message, page URL, user agent, hashed IP address, captcha verification signals, anti-abuse metadata, and app ID in Supabase so the team can respond and rate-limit abuse. If notification email secrets are configured, CartProof may send a notification email through the configured email provider.

Data Not Collected

CartProof does not collect global browsing history, does not run continuous background monitoring, and does not complete payments or place orders.

Third Parties

CartProof uses Lemon Squeezy for payments and license keys. CartProof uses the shared Supabase Licensing Manager backend for license validation, usage quota handling, and contact request storage.

Limited Use

CartProof uses storefront page data only to provide user-facing Shopify QA checks and handoff reports requested by the user. CartProof does not sell user data or use it for unrelated advertising.

Browser Permissions Explained

CartProof uses Chrome permissions only for user-triggered storefront QA. The current extension declares activeTab, scripting, sidePanel, storage and tabs so it can open the side panel, run checks on the active storefront when you start an audit, save local reports/settings and identify the active tab context.
