PRE-LAUNCH QA

A practical Shopify pre-launch QA checklist.

Use this checklist before the client reviews the store. It is written to be useful even if you run it manually.

Storefront checklist

  • Product data: title, description, media, price and compare-at price are correct.
  • Variants: key variants can be selected and unavailable states are clear.
  • Images: variant-dependent images update when shoppers change options.
  • Pricing: product, cart and discounted totals stay consistent.
  • Inventory state: sold-out, low-stock or preorder messaging matches the business rule.
  • Cart behavior: add, quantity update, removal and empty-cart states work.
  • Discount behavior: configured codes produce the expected customer-facing result.
  • Navigation: product, collection, cart and checkout handoff links point to the expected path.
  • Mobile review: core pages remain readable and tappable on narrow screens.
  • Analytics/manual checks: confirm tracking, legal copy and brand-specific acceptance criteria separately.
  • Client sign-off: capture evidence and unresolved issues before handoff.

Useful example

For a product with a sale price and a discount code, test the default variant and at least one alternate variant. Confirm the cart line item matches the chosen option and the discount changes the total by the expected amount.
